Electric Hoist Safety Operating Procedures
1. Only certified operators should handle electric hoists, following all safety procedures and avoiding slanted lifting.
2. Pre-lift inspections are required for mechanical and electrical components; verify brakes before raising the load.
3. Lifting must not exceed load limits, and hands must be kept clear from ropes and objects during operation.
4. Securely tie all loads with padding on sharp edges to prevent damage.
5. Keep loads low while moving and avoid suspending them in the air during breaks to prevent drops.
6. Use insulated trailing switches correctly, ensuring proper standing position for safety.
7. Halt operations immediately at signs of overheating or strange odors; resume only after issues are resolved.
8. Maintain at least three wraps of wire rope on the drum when the hook is at its lowest.
9. In case of load slippage due to a fault, take emergency action to lower the load away from people.
10. After work, park the hoist in its designated spot, raise the hook, and disconnect the power.
